Pre-matric scholarship for student belonging to minority communities

Pre-matric scholarship scheme for students belonging to minority communities provides the scholarship to students from Class I to X studying in Government/ recognized private schools/ institutes in India. 

Eligibility:
Students belonging to Muslim/ Christian/ Sikh/ Buddhist/ Parsi who has secured not less than 50% marks in previous final examination and the annual income of his/her parents/ guardians from all sources not exceeding Rs. 1 lakh, can apply for the pre-matric scholarship.

Amount of the Scholarship: 
Class I to V: Rs. 100/- per month for 10 months for a day scholar Class
VI to X: Rs. 100/- per month for 10 months for a day scholar and Rs. 600 for a hosteller. In addition, he also gets Rs. 500 admission fee and Rs.350 tuition fee.

How to apply: Students shall download the application form from http://www.minorityaffairs.gov.in/sites/upload_files/moma/files/pdfs/apl_format.pdf.  Completed forms may be sent to the principal secretaries/ secretaries dealing with the pre-matric scholarship in the state/UT. Later they shall recommend these students to the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Important dates:
Last date for submitting applications by the students: August 31, 2013
Last date for submitting of scholarship requirements to the Ministry by the State/ UT: September 30, 2013
