Scholarships for Indian students at University of Sheffield

India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2013 (£7,000)

There are three India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships, available for Indian students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September of every year.

Each scholarship is worth £7,000 per year of study for all undergraduate programmes except Medicine and Dentistry. Students of Medicine or Dentistry will only receive the scholarship in the first two years of study. The scholarships will take the form of a fee reduction.

To be eligible for the India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships applicants must be an Indian national or permanently domiciled in India, and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September session.
The India Merit Undergraduate Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.

Postgraduate Scholarships

The University offers a range of scholarships for Indian students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate Taught Masters programme at the University of Sheffield.

India Sheffield Scholarships

We are pleased to offer the India Sheffield Scholarship to all Indian students who wish to start a Masters programme in this university.

The scholarships are:

•£1,000 each for students studying Nanotechnology courses (jointly run with the University of Leeds)
•£1,500 each for students paying fees between £12,760 - £14,680
•£2,000 each for students paying fees of £14,681 and upwards

Eligibility:
• You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgraduate Taught Masters programme.
• You must be an Indian national or permanently domiciled in India.
• You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for fee purposes.
• The scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required.
• The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
• The scholarships are for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying via Distance Learning are not eligible for the scholarships.

India Merit Postgraduate Scholarships

There are five India Merit Postgraduate Scholarships available for Indian students who wish to start their postgraduate degree studies.

Each scholarship is worth £7,000 of your postgraduate taught master’s degree tuition fee per year, for one year of study. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

To be eligible for the India Merit Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must be an Indian national or permanently domiciled in India, apply for a study place and hold an offer of a study place for entry.
The India Merit Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January onwards.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
